Cruise “Vacation Worthy” Ports; Western Caribbean Ports

You ever wonder where/what city you actually go on a cruise or do you ever what to know anything about the cruise ports/cities BEFORE you visit? I will tell you here which ones in the western caribbean are vacation worthy ports:

Bermuda- Hamilton, Kings Warf

Both great cities to visit. The culture there is absolulty exsquisit and the locals are so friendly and welcoming, trust me you don’t find that friendliness in many port cities.

Jamaica- Ocho Rios

A lot of drug peddling going on here in this port. There are a lot of pressure sales and the tours are sketchy, although Bob Marley’s Shrine is awesome to see, there are locals that get on the bus that takes you there and they try to sell you drugs…not so nice. HOWEVER if you get a chance go to Dunn’s River Falls which is super nice and the best place to go in Jamaica!

Belize- Belize City

Belize city is nice but you need to do a shore excursion in this port! The port has some small shops when you first get off the boat, but nothing to keep you entertained longer than a 1/2 hour. BEAUTIFUL coral reef, some of the best in the world, so definitely go snorkeling if you can!!!

This is a VERY sketchy port. Do not give the children money, as they skip school to peddle for change. Definitely do a shore excursion here! They have beautiful beaches and some ruins you can see, but Do Not Stay In The City or venture out by yourself.

Cayman Islands– Grand Cayman Island

This city to me resembles Bermuda, as the culture is so true and the locals are so friendly. Here you can shop the streets downtown or you can take a private tour and feel safe; they are usually a lot cheaper. They have beautiful beaches, turtle farms, and historical culture, so take advantage of the locals; ask them questions about where to go or their culture they are VERY pleasant here.

Mexico- Cozumel

Beautiful water here that makes for gorgeous back drops for your Caribbean pictures. You can buy handmade goods here, jewelry, paintings, clothing and other goods. Venture beyond the tourist area, but still on the main road and you can get yourself a deal!

I will post eastern Caribbean ports and other cruise port soon! Keep checking back 😀
