The “ACTIVE” Nintendo Wii

I bought the Nintendo Wii when it first came out last year and I must say it is the GREATEST gaming system yet. It gets adults and children out of their previous “video game seated position”, up out of their seats, moving, swinging around and challenging others. Even the few Wii games that offer you a seat still have you mentally challenged; testing your physical and mental reflexes and your arms moving around vigorously like  reeling in fish. The Nintendo Wii offers an active experience like no other.

The gaming system gets players bodies moving, posing a form of exercise for the mind and body. The players are having so much fun they do not even realize what a work out they are getting.

The Nintendo Wii has active games like tennis, bowling, golf, guitar playing, yoga, aerobics, balancing activities, dancing with the stars, baseball, hockey and many other games. Nintendo Will also has games for the not so adventurous population, these would include games that are more for mental stimulation.

The best Wii games for getting you off that couch and moving are:

  • Wii sports (comes stock with the gaming system)
  • Wii play (9 games for physical and mental reflexes, duck hunt is one of them)
  • Guitar Hero (you actually strum a guitar)
  • Wii Fit ( this game offers a variety of  activities such as aerobics, yoga, muscle stretches, soccer, and balance games)

The gaming system is overall just plain fun and entertaining. Forget those board games when you have the Nintendo Wii! Nothing says fun more than someone swinging an invisible baseball bat for a cheering crowd or strumming a plastic guitar for a well known band. You can also play the Wii online, so you can challenge yourself further. This is defiantly one of the best buys out there.
