By now I am sure you have all heard about Deltas merge with Northwest airlines to be the largest airline carrier in the world. I have always been a Delta fan with a great love for the late Delta Song, and would prefer to fly their airline over any other, but will all this merging change my mind?

My question is will there still be deals on airfare on the biggest airline carrier? There is a lot of buzz going around that say if the two merge ticket prices on both airlines would go up and there would be fewer flights at airports now served by both carriers that will lead to more crowed planes. I guess we will see.

The upside you ask? This is newer planes, upgraded customer service, and frequent fliers enrolled with either Delta or Northwest Airlines with see the choice of destinations vastly expand (Northwest is strong in Asia, while Delta has an extensive presence in Europe and Latin America)!

I guess the few places you can STILL find great deals are on old fateful Southwest Airlines, Jet Blue, Spirit Airlines, and AirTran.
