A Review Of Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull Movie
May 29th 2008
This weekend I saw the new Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull movie and as a side note: typically I wouldn’t see, never mind like, movies such as this one that take place in an older era with action stunts and fighting that is so far from being real, HOWEVER even with all this I found myself on the edge of my seat loving it AND laughing!!!
Harrison Ford filled the shoes as Indiana Jones quite nicely in this film and he was hilarious doing so. I have to tell you that I agree with Roger Ebert when he sums up the films saying what you get from this film is “goofy action and lots of it, man-eating ants, swordfights between two people balanced on the backs of speeding jeeps, subterranean caverns of gold, vicious femme fatales, plunges down three waterfalls in a row, and the explanation for flying saucers. And throw in lots of monkeys”. (For a full review from Roger Ebert visit http://rogerebert.suntimes.com)
It was simply funny, a lot of which was sarcasm which I personally love, very action packed with a little love story in between. I have not seen any of the other Indiana Jones Films, such as The Adventures of Indiana Jones (box set) but I did enjoy this one and I think it is worth seeing.
